GAVIN COLMAN WINS 2007 ISA KNEEBOARD WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
Santa Cruz, Calif – Jan. 17, 2007 – Gavin Colman of Cronulla, Australia completed a perfect week of competition by winning both the Open and Senior divisions at the 2007  ISA Kneeboard World Championships at Santa Cruz’ Steamer Lane Jan. 9-13.  Colman, who won every heat he surfed during the five-day competition, used an explosive vertical attack to win last Saturday’s Open final in glassy 4 to 6 foot surf.

Santa Cruz, CA (Thursday, Dec. 21, 2006) – Kneeboard Surfing USA announced today that it is hosting the 2007 World Kneeboard Championship in Santa Cruz January 9 through January 13.  Top Kneeboard surfers from around the world will begin arriving soon for the first-ever U.S. hosted world titles event and are competing for a first-place cash prize of $3,000.

 

2007 WORLD KNEEBOARD CHAMPIONSHIPS, 7- 14 JANUARY 2007
The World Kneeboard Championships bring together kneeboarders from around the world to showcase their talents in an endeavour to claim the title as the World Kneeboard Champion.


To provide the competitors a suitable arena on the world stage, Kneeboard Surfing International (KSI) is pleased to announce that Kneeboard Surfing USA (KSUSA) will be conducting the 2007 World Kneeboard Championships at Santa Cruz, California.

The dates for the event are 7 January 2007 to 14 January 2007 inclusive.

Mandatory registration will occur on the evening of Sunday 7 January 2007.

The contest will commence on Monday 8 January 2007 and conclude the evening of Saturday 13 January 2007.

The divisions will include an Open Division, a Women's Division and age groups (women are also eligible to compete in the age groups).

ISA World Kneeboard Championships Age groups:
* Cadet - under 16
* Junior - over 16 under 18
* Pro Junior - over 18 under 28
* Senior - over 28 under 35
* Masters - over 35 under 45
* Grand Masters - over 45 under 55
* ROB's - over 55
Minimum 4 competitors per age group to compete for a world title Age determined as of January 1, 2006

OPEN Division:
1st prize: USD $3,000
2nd prize: USD $1,500
3rd prize: USD $750
4th prize: USD $250
Open division to surf 2nd chance repercharge as per ISA rule book. A surfer is automatically entered in 2 divisions - Open and 1 age division with their entry fee

This event is sanctioned by the International Surfing Association (ISA) and conducted in accordance with ISA guidelines.
