PUERTO RICO IS READY FOR THE MASTERS
Last year’s local team and runner up in the first edition of the annual ISA World Masters Surfing Championship, Puerto Rico is now in Peru looking to repeat or improve their great results. From March 31 until April 5 they will compete against 17 other National teams in the perfect waves of Punta Rocas.
Puerto Rico proved to be tough competition as locals, and this year they will be challenged to prove themselves in foreign waters. In 2007, the legendary “boricuas” surfers Juan Ashton and Alberto Licha were both medal winners. Surfer Juan Ashton won the Gold Medal in the Masters while teammate Alberto Licaha secured the Bronze Medal in the Grand Masters. Both teammates are here in Peru, and they will be under the spotlight in both events. Read more

TAHITIAN MASTERS TO DEFEND THE BRONZE MEDAL IN PERU
Tahitians are ready for the only world surfing tournament for surfers over 35 years old, the ISA World Masters Surfing Championship that will take place in the wonderful Peruvian waves of Punta Rocas, from March 29 until April 5.
After a great performance at last years Masters in the waves of Rincón, Puerto Rico, the Tahitians won the Bronze medal in the overall team standings, with their outstanding surfers Heifara Tahutini and Heinare Paez winning the Silver Medals in the Masters and Grand Masters divisions respectively.

DOMINICANS ARE READY FOR THE MASTERS
Dominican Republic has confirmed a full Masters team that will compete in the second edition of the annual ISA World Masters Surfing Championship that will be held in the fantastic waves of Punta Rocas, Peru, from March 29 until April 5.
Dominicans obtained their best ever result in a World Surfing Contest in the first edition of the Masters competition, held January 2007 in the perfect waves of Rincón, Puerto Rico, obtaining an overall 6th in the team positions, with their two Kahunas surfers placing 5th and 6th –Ariel Mendez and Robert Reid respectively. BRAZIL GOES TO PERU AS ONE OF THE FAVOURITES
Brazil will be competing with a strong “dream team” in the second edition of the annual ISA World Masters Surfing Championship that will take place in the long, perfect and classic waves of Punta Rocas, Peru, from March 29 - April 5.
On the team, you can see former WCT surfer Jojó De Olivença, former National Champs Pedro Muller, Ricardo Toledo and Brigitte Mayer, and State champions or former Pro Brazilian tour top 16 like Jair de Oliveira, Renato Phebo and Newton Miranda. Read more

TEAM AUSTRALIA READY TO ROCK THE MASTERS
In the wake of Mick Fanning and Stephanie Gilmore’s success on surfing’s ‘World Tour”, Australia’s premier masters surfers will slug it out for world glory at the 2008 ISA World Masters Surfing Championships in Peru next week.
Team Australia will enter the second-annual tournament, running from 30 March – 5th April; led by 1988 Pipeline Masters champion Rob Page.
Page, the former elite World Tour competitor, will contest both the men’s masters (Over 35) and grand masters (Over 40) divisions at Puntas Rocas, Peru. Read more

ECUADORIAN FULL TEAM FIRED UP FOR THE MASTERS
A full Ecuadorian team will be competing in the perfect Peruvian waves of Punta Rocas from March 29 until April 5 in the only world surfing event for surfers over 35 years old, the second annual ISA World Masters Surfing Championship.
This is second time that Ecuador will compete in the World Masters Surfing Championship. On the first edition, that took place in the perfect waves of Rincón, Puerto Rico, Ecuadorians placed 8th in the overall team standings.

TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO IS READY TO MAKE THEIR DEBUT AT THE MASTERS
For the first time in history, Trinidad and Tobago will be competing in the one and only world tournament for surfers over 35, the annual ISA World Masters Surfing Championship that will be held in the perfect, traditional waves of Punta Rocas, Peru from March 29 until April 5.

The Caribbean team will be competing in Peru with a full team
A full Jamaican team will be participating in the second edition of the Annual ISA World Masters Surfing Championship that will be held in Punta Rocas, Peru, from March 29 until April 5.

TEAM ARGENTINA IS READY FOR THEIR WORLD MASTERS DEBUT
For the first time in history a full Argentinean team will compete for the ISA World Masters Surfing Championship Gold Medal.
After holding three team trials in order to select the Argentinean Masters Team, the Southern American nation decided the surfers that will participate. The light blue and white team will participate in the ISA World Masters Surfing Championship to be held in the perfect Peruvian Punta Rocas’ waves from March 29 until April 5. Read more

LOCALS ARE READY FOR THE MASTERS
Peruvians are eager to repeat the 1965 victory in Punta Rocas
After a long 43 year wait, the traditional surfing nation of Peru will be hosting, for the second time in history, a world surfing contest - the ISA World Masters Surfing Championship. The event will be held from March 29 to April 5, in the perfect waves of Punta Rocas.
In 1965, Peruvians held the 2nd World Surfing Championship and, with the local ripper Felipe Pomar winning the second World Champion title in surfing history, the locals claimed their victory. This time, they want to do it again in their waves and with their best surfers. Read more

South Africa´s Masters Team is ready for the 2008 ISA World Masters Surfing Championship
The first edition of the annual ISA World Masters Surfing Championship, held in the surf of Puerto Rico in January, 2007, was won by the South Africa team that had four finalists in the three categories.
With the upcoming second edition of the Masters right around the corner, from March 29 until April 5, in the perfect waves of Punta Rocas, Peru, South Africans show themselves focused and fired up to repeat the spectacular campaign performed a year ago. Read more
About the ISA
The International Surfing Association (ISA) is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the World Governing Authority for Surfing and all Surfriding activities, including Short Board, Longboard, Bodyboard, Kneeboard, Tandem, Skimboard, Tow In and Stand Up Paddle surfing. It was originally founded as the International Surfing Federation in 1964 and has been running world championships since 1964 and the Junior World Championships since 1980.
ISA membership includes the surfing National Governing Bodies (NGBs) of over 50 countries on six continents. Its headquarters are located in La Jolla, California. It is presided by Fernando Aguerre, first elected in 1994 in Rio, and re-elected six times since. The ISA’s four Vice Presidents are Alan Atkins (Australia), Robin de Kock (South Africa), Mike Gerard (USA), and Karin Sierralta (Peru).

PUERTO RICO ESTA PRONTO PARA EL MASTERS
Vicecampeones como locales, el año pasado en la primera edición del anual ISA World Masters Surfing Championship, los puertorriqueños ya están en Perú y con ganas de repetir o mejorar su gran resultado, esta vez, desde el 31 de marzo hasta el 5 de abril en las olas de Punta Rocas.
Puerto Rico demostró ser una contingente difícil de vencer como locales y este año tienen el desafío de probarse en otras aguas. Los legendarios boricuas Juan Ashton, ganó la Medalla de Oro en la Masters, y su compañero de equipo Alberto Licha se llevó el Bronce en la Grand Masters; ambos están aquí en Perú y estarán bajo el radar durante el evento. LOS MASTERS TAHITIANOS DEFIENDEN EL BRONCE EN PERU
Tahití está pronto para el único torneo mundial de surfing para surfistas por encima de los 35 años de edad, los ISA World Masters Surfing Championship que serán realizados en las perfectas olas peruanas de Punta Rocas, desde el 29 de marzo hasta el 5 de abril.
Luego de realizar una gran representación en la primera edición de este evento anual, en las olas de Rincón, Puerto Rico, los tahitianos se llevaron la medalla de Bronce en las posiciones generales por equipos, con dos de sus representantes, los excelentes surfistas Heifara Tahutini y Heinare Paez ganando Plata en la categoría Masters y Grand Masters respectivamente. DOMINICANOS ESTAN PRONTOS PARA EL MASTERS
República Dominicana confirmó su equipo completo de Masters que competirá en la segunda edición del anual ISA World Masters Surfing Championship que serán realizados en las perfectas, largas y a veces grandes olas de Punta Rocas, Perú, desde el 29 de marzo hasta el 5 de abril.
Los dominicanos realizaron su mejor actuación en un torneo mundial de surfing en la primera edición de este evento, llevada a cabo en enero de 2007 en las olas de Rincón, Puerto Rico, obteniendo la sexta posición en el ranking por equipos, con sus dos competidores de la Kahunas ubicándose en quinta y sexta posición –Ariel Mendez y Robert Reid respectivamente. BRASIL SE VA A PERU COMO UNO DE LOS FAVORITOS
Brasil estará compitiendo con un fuerte “dream team” en la segunda edición del anual ISA World Masters Surfing Championship que será realizado en las largas, perfectas y clásicas olas de Punta Rocas, Perú, desde el 29 de marzo hasta el 5 de abril.

En plena era de suceso del surfing australiano, con Mick Fanning y Stephanie Gilmore como jerarcas del surfing mundial, los mejores masters australianos buscarán seguir con la gloria, peleando su lugar en el ISA World Masters Surfing Championships en Perú la semana que viene.

ECUATORIANOS CON EQUIPO COMPLETO PARTEN MOTIVADOS PARA EL MASTERS
Un equipo completo de ecuatorianos estará presente en las perfectas olas de Punta Rocas desde el 29 de marzo hasta el 5 de abril para competir en el único evento mundial para surfistas mayores de 35 años, el segundo anual ISA World Masters Surfing Championship.

El equipo caribeño competirá en Perú con equipo completo
Un equipo completo de jamaiquinos estará participando en la segunda edición del anual ISA World Masters Surfing Championship que será realizado en las clásicas y perfectas olas de Punta Rocas en Perú desde el 29 de marzo hasta el 5 de abril.

LOS LOCALES PRONTOS PARA EL MASTERS
Los peruanos están con ganas de repetir la victoria de 1965 en Punta Rocas

En 1965, los peruanos fueron anfitriones del Campeonato Mundial de Surf, que tuvo al talento local, Felipe Pomar consagrándose como el segundo Campeón Mundial de Surfing de la historia, los locales festejaron la victoria y para esta vez quieren repetir la hazaña, en sus propias olas y con sus mejores surfistas. El Equipo Sudafricano Master está listo para el World Masters Surfing Championship 2008
La primera edición del campeonato anual ISA World Masters Surfing Championship, realizado en excelentes olas de Puerto Rico en enero de 2007 fue vencido por un muy en forma equipo sudafricano, que tuvo cuatro finalistas en las tres divisiones disputadas.
Con la venidera segunda edición del Mundial Masters a la vuelta de la esquina, a ser realizada desde el 29 de marzo hasta el 5 de abril, en las perfectas olas de Punta Rocas, Perú, los sudáfricanos se muestran concentrados y encendidos para repetir la campaña espectacular realizada un año atrás. Sobre la International Surfing Association
La International Surfing Association (ISA) es reconocida por el Comité Olímpico Internacional (COI) como la Autoridad Gobernante en el mundo de todas las actividades de surfriding, incluyendo tabla corta, Longboard, Bodyboard, Kneeboard, Tandem, Skimboard, Tow In y Stand Up Paddle surfing. Originalmente fue fundada como la Federación Internacional de Surf en 1964 y ha realizado los Campeonatos Mundiales desde ese entonces y los Mundiales Junior desde 1980.
Los miembros de la ISA son más de 50 federaciones nacionales de seis continentes. Su base está en La Jolla, California. Es presidida por Fernando Aguerre, elegido por primera vez en 1994 en Río de Janeiro y re elegido seis veces desde entonces. Los cuatro vicepresidentes de la ISA son Alan Atkins (Australia), Robin de Kock (South Africa), Mike Gerard (USA) y Karin Sierralta (Perú).
